For northern Scotland and the eastern side of England it should be fine and dry this morning with some hazy sunshine. An area of light rain is expected across Northern Ireland, Wales and the south west of England with scattered showers across the rest of Scotland and England. In the afternoon expect quite a few showers, some locally heavy for much of Britain, though perhaps staying dry across East Anglia and the south east of England. Still warm in the east with highs of 19 to 22C and 16 to 19C in the west.
Friday night
A number of heavy showers will persist across western areas for a good part of the evening before fading away later. Dry across eastern areas with clear spells. Overnight a band of light rain from western Scotland into Northern Ireland and Cornwall. Dry elsewhere with some low cloud and mistiness by morning. A very mild night with lows only down to 10 to 14C north to south.
