Planning outlook:
A warm front will be to the east of the country on Thursday with a cold front far to the west. High pressure will be centred in the Bay of Biscay and this will result in a southwesterly flow affecting all parts bringing very warm weather through all areas. Western coasts and hills will have a few spots of drizzle and some low cloud from time to time. To the lee of high ground, especially central and eastern areas will become brighter with sunny spells. Winds W-SW F5-F6.
A cold front slips south through Scotland bringing a few outbreaks if rain on Friday. It will become cooler and brighter here in the afternoon. The front affects southern Ireland, Wales and northern England in the afternoon giving some showers. More southern parts of England and Wales will be staying dry with sunny spells, although cloud increasing in the afternoon. Winds W F4 but F5 at times in the far north.
High pressure will be affecting most of the southern half of the UK through Saturday. This is going to be bringing plenty of bright, dry weather although there will be a morning frost with the risk of some fog patches. Breezier through Scotland with a few showers in northern and western areas. Winds mainly W F3 in the south, but F5-F6 in northern Scotland.
Pressure stays high through most of the country on Sunday. There will be fog patches at first, but these will be clearing quickly. The day is then going to be dry and bright with good spells of sunshine, although always more cloud affecting western Ireland and western Scotland. Winds W F3-F4.
Lower confidence in the forecast for Monday. A front is expected to pass east and this could bring some rain to Scotland and the north of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it is likely to be staying drier with some sunny spells. Winds mainly SW F3-F4.
High pressure is to the south of the country on Tuesday with low pressure to the north. A warm front is going to spread eastwards bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain over Ireland and Scotland. Western coasts of Wales and England may have cloud at times, but for more eastern areas conditions should be drier with some sunny spells. Winds SW F4-F5.
