Ah, radio, my first experience of broadcasting. It all began back in 1984 when I started forecasting on Radio Wulfrun, hospital radio in Wolverhampton.
In 1987 I got the opportunity of a lifetime, when my mentor, John Warner, offered me the chance to cover for his holiday leave on Beacon Radio and WABC. I leapt at the chance, I was 15 and loved every minute of my on-air experience.
Seems like a long time ago now, but these two stepping stones gave me a great grounding in the art of broadcasting.
I’ve since provided both written and on-air forecasts, as well a comment for Virgin Radio, Talk Radio, Talk Sport, BBC Radio WM, Saga 105.8 FM, BC Radio Shropshire, Beacon Shropshire, Telford FM and many more.
