Recommendations Don’t take my word for it, here’s what past delegates have said about the courses.
“Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the course on Saturday. Having previously found myself marooned due to bad weather on several occasions, I no longer have any excuses!“ Keith, PPL
Thanks for a great day yesterday...been boring my kids ever since:) !" "Excellent, well worth attending, I learnt a lot. Simon was really good. I came to the course as a complete novice sailor. I have virtually no training in weather or any aspect of it. My knowledge is limited to reading and trying to understand the shipping and inshore waters forecast via Navtex, TV and the internet. I have bought books on the subject, but found them all really hard and so gave up. Although the course was a little advanced for a complete novice, I did understand 75% of the total content and so a course more "dumbed down" for the beginner wouldn't work...Simon said at the beginning that we may not understand everything but we should learn something from the course, and come out knowing more than when we went in - TRUE! Excellent value for money and I would certainly recommend the course to others
Simons delivery is both easy to understand and enjoyable. Any recreational sailor who's understanding of the weather is, at best, vague would benefit hugely from this course. Any sailor whose ability to navigate is equal their understanding of weather would also benefit from attending. As a commercial pilot, meteorology is a way of my working life, and I still came away from this course having learnt something, so there is something in it for everyone!!" "Thanks for a really interesting and informative day yesterday. I personally got a great deal out of it and it fleshes out the RYA bits nicely. The level of detail, insights into a weatherman and the humour were just right. A great day!"
Your enthusiasm makes the whole subject very colourful....I'll be recommending you to as many people as possible. The cakes great as well !"
"The course is highly recommended, can't wait for Part 2!" "Four fellow PPL's and I recently attended the one day weather school course (part 1) run by Simon Keeling of The Weather Consultancy Services, at their base in Wombourne. What a fantastic and worthwhile day! Meteorology has always been a bit of a black art for us and although we have all passed the Met exam during our PPL training, it is a subject that does need further enlightenment. Simon put together a very comprehensive program, starting at 10am through until 5.00pm, and made the subject matters so much easier to understand. He started with the physics (no - not that mind blowing) and then went on to understanding how to interpret the weather charts, and related frontal systems and what to expect. This is a course for any level of pilot experience and Simon's deep passion for the weather makes this a brilliant course. Highly recommended!! This linked with their excellent live weather briefing by John or Simon on 09061-991189 gives us GA pilots a good briefing service before we take to the air."
Hi Simon, just to say thanks for an excellent day on Saturday. Its nice to meet someone really passionate about weather, I enjoyed it immensely - well done !! Cheers, Jerry."
"Simon, Thanks again for last Saturday's weather school, we all agreed that it was a worthwhile course, and has certainly got us all more interested in the weather and forecasting. It was very useful for our more inexperienced pilots, as you certainly brought home to them the dangers of CB's! We drove through a fairly blinding snow shower on the way back, so driving was probably a good choice. Thanks again, and keep up the good work. Cheers Phil "
“It was extremely good and well worth the drive. “
