Increased sightings of tornadoes in UK
and other parts of Europe

This year I have heard about lots of tornadoes or sightings of funnel clouds in the UK, more so than previous years. Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex and Leicestershire are just some areas which have reported sightings.
The increased number of sightings is not surprising when you know that tornadoes form when the weather is unstable and showery – weather that we have definitely become used to in the past few months here in England.
However it is not just us who have been experiencing such weather. Just two days ago (16th July) two tornados caused chaos in Poland when they struck, killing two people and leaving at least 10 others injured. Heavy storms destroyed more than 100 houses and brought down power lines.
